H2Excellence is pleased to announce the launch of the first hydrogen microcredential developed within the project and officially recognized by the University of Málaga (UMA).
The new 3.5 ECTS microcredential in Hydrogen Technologies course started on 5th October, 2026 has been designed to provide participants with both a strong theoretical foundation and practical experience in hydrogen technologies. The microcredential course delivered by Prof. Dr. M. Olga Guerrero-Pérez (UMA) combines lectures, hands-on training, and real-world case studies to equip learners with the knowledge and skills needed to contribute to the growing hydrogen economy.
The first edition of the course has attracted 25 participants, bringing together senior engineering students and professionals from various sectors who share an interest in developing expertise in hydrogen technologies. Through an interdisciplinary learning approach, participants will gain valuable insights into hydrogen production, applications, and the role of hydrogen in Europe’s clean energy transition.
The launch represents an important milestone for the H2Excellence project and demonstrates how higher education institutions can play a key role in supporting innovation, skills development, and knowledge transfer for the hydrogen economy. It also highlights the growing importance of microcredentials as a tool for upskilling and reskilling professionals in response to rapidly evolving labour market needs.
Through initiatives such as this, H2Excellence continues to strengthen the European hydrogen skills ecosystem by fostering collaboration between education, industry, and regional stakeholders, ensuring that learners are equipped with the competencies required for the green energy transition.
