H2Excellence Presents Scientific Research on Ammonia Decomposition and SOFC Performance at EFCF2025

The H2Excellence project proudly presented an insightful scientific study titled “Impact of Ammonia Decomposition on Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC) Performance: A DRT Study” at the European Fuel Cells Conference (EFCF2025) held on September 17-19 in Capri, Italy.

The research was delivered by Mr. Luigi Margutti from our valued partner, the University of Perugia (UNIPG), Italy. His presentation explored the effects of ammonia decomposition on the performance of Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (SOFCs) by using Distribution of Relaxation Times (DRT) analysis method to investigate electrochemical dynamics and system behavior.

This work contributes to the broader understanding of hydrogen carriers and their role in fuel cell technologies and offers valuable insights for future energy systems.

The contribution included:

  • An extended abstract
  • The oral powerpoint presentation

We extend our appreciation to Mr. Margutti and the University of Perugia (UNIPG) for their continued collaboration and impactful research within the H2Excellence consortium.
