H2Excellence Workshop in Montréal: A Global Gathering for Hydrogen Innovation

We are thrilled to announce the successful completion of the H2Excellence Workshop held at Polytechnique Montréal from July 23–25, 2025 and organized by Professor Gregory Patience and Dr. Jildimara Santana from Polytechnique Montréal (Canada) and Professor Olga Guerrero-Pérez from the University of Malaga (Spain).
Over three dynamic days, the workshop brought together more than 110 participants both onsite and online and 33 speakers from Europe and North America presenting academia, industry, startups, and innovation hubs. The event fostered vibrant discussions and cross-sector collaboration to shape the future of hydrogen technologies.
Notable participants included Hydrogène Québec, a leading non-profit organization promoting renewable and low-carbon hydrogen in the province, and CHARBONE Corporation, a publicly traded company specializing in ultra-high-purity hydrogen and strategic gas distribution across North America, Asia-Pacific, and Europe
Participants ranged from professors and PhD students to incubators, accelerators, and entrepreneurs, creating a dynamic and interdisciplinary environment that encouraged the formation of new partnerships and the exchange of innovative ideas.
A special feature was Technoscience Québec’s interactive booth which demonstrated a hydrogen-powered car and presented the Grand Prix Horizon Hydrogène – H2GP PRO, an inspiring initiative linking education, innovation, and youth leadership in clean energy. The photo gallery (below) from the event offers the reflection of the energy and enthusiasm that defined these unforgettable days.
