Online Training Seminar for SMEs Held in Finland

As part of the project activities, the project coordinator, Vaasa University of Applied Sciences (VAMK), in collaboration with Merinova Oy, organized an online training workshop for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) titled ‘Green Hydrogen, Value Chain and Cross-cutting Issues/Vihreä vety: tiekartta, vedyn arvoketju ja osaamistarpeet‘ on December 12, 2025. The workshop explored the various aspects of the hydrogen value chain, such as technology, safety, regulations, and future prospects for Finland.

The sessions took place in the morning and covered a wide range of topics, including

  • Hydrogen roadmaps in Finland and Ostrobothnia
  • Hydrogen technologies
  • Safety and legislation
  • Engineering, Procurement, and Construction
  • SMEs’ needs and challenges in the hydrogen sector

Mr. Kari Valkama (Merinova Oy) was the moderator of the training workshop and Mrs. Marja-Riitta Vest (VAMK) delivered the welcome speech. Dr. Sari Kola (BotH₂nia Network, Finland) was a keynote speaker while Mr. Tuomo Rinne (P2X Solutions Oy), Mrs. Petra Maunula (Hycamite TCD Technologies Ltd.), Mr. Mikko Hämäläinen (YTM), and Dr. Pertti Miettunen (KristinaEco Living Lab at Business Kristinestad) were the speakers representing SMEs and from the consortium partners Dr. Francesca Santoni from ENEA (Italy), and Dr. Karna Dahal (VAMK, Finland) also spoke during the workshop.

The workshop featured presentations from small and medium-sized companies (SMEs) offering innovative hydrogen solutions and the BotH₂nia network. The workshop provided a valuable opportunity for participants to understand how hydrogen can be integrated into their business strategy and contribute to the transition toward green energy.
