The H2Excellence project made a significant impact at the Connecting Hydrogen Europe 2025 event, held at IFEMA Madrid on June 18-19, 2025. This dynamic business-networking platform, launched in 2022, has continued to grow, effectively uniting stakeholders across the entire hydrogen value chain to accelerate advancements in the hydrogen industry and foster Europe’s new energy economy.
The H2Excellence project partner CIEMAT, took the opportunity to exhibit and share valuable insights regarding the project’s outcomes. Attendees gathered relevant information on various ongoing and upcoming activities, including workshops and e-learning courses tailored for vocational education and training (VET) students, as well as graduate and postgraduate scholars.
CIEMAT highlighted initiatives aimed at upskilling and reskilling professionals in the green hydrogen and fuel cells sector. Additionally, the exhibition outlined plans for expanding Centres of Vocational Excellence to EU countries not currently represented within the consortium. Participants also learned about mobility opportunities, networking events, and technical support aimed at empowering VET providers, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), universities, research and development institutions, and other essential stakeholders.
Throughout the two-day event, the CIEMAT research unit of Functional Materials for Hydrogen Technologies represented the H2Excellence consortium. The team actively engaged with attendees, exhibitors, panelists, and speakers, promoting collaboration, innovation, and the formation of strategic partnerships essential for advancing the hydrogen sector.
As the hydrogen industry continues to grow, events like Connecting Hydrogen Europe are crucial for cultivating relationships and exploring new business opportunities that drive forward the shift to sustainable energy in Europe.
